Publish desktop applications in the Microsoft Store part2
- Windows 10
- Visual Studio
- Visual Studio 2019
※ Works in other versions, but is unconfirmed
Last time, we created a package to publish applications in the local environment. This section provides step-by-step instructions on how to publish an application to the Microsoft Store.
By the way, the contents of the future from here are almost the same as when you register the UWP application, so we will proceed with the minimum explanation required.
- You're registering an account so that your application can publish in the Microsoft Store (microsoft store account registration isn't a subject, so it's desirable to be able to publish other apps already)
- You have already created an application package to publish.
Register public information
Go to the following URL: If you haven't signed in, sign in with the account.
In the list of apps on the overview page, select the app because it has been created in the app-store association.
If this is the first time you've published your app, select Start submission.
Then, because the application page is created, registration is done in order.
Price and availability
Select Price and Availability.
By default, it is open to the public for almost the whole world. If you want to make a specific country public, click View Options in Markets.
If you want to distribute it for free, make pricing free. If you have a fee, choose any price.
If you want to set up a free trial period for the paid version, select the number of days.
Once you've entered it, save it in "Save Draft" at the bottom.
When you register, you will get a completion mark.
Select the property.
Enter Categories and Subcategories.
Enter support information. You must create privacy policies and Web sites beforehand. If it is a fixed page, there is no problem in the blog.
Set the display mode and system requirements to match the application you created.
When you're done, click Save at the bottom.
Rating by Age
Select a rating by age.
Choose the selection here to suit your application.
When you're done, click the Save and Generate button at the bottom.
If you're ok with your input, click the Continue button at the bottom.
Select the package.
Drag the package "xxxx.appxupload" of the application you are creating to the drop area. Then, the upload starts, and it waits for it to complete.
Set the environment in which the app can be used in Device Family Availability.
When you're done, click the Save button.
Store Registration Information
Select "Japanese (Japan)" from the Store registration information. Because the content to input here becomes only for Japanese, If you want to set store information for other languages, you must add it from the Add/Remove Languagelink link. Keep in mind that you will need as many store registration information as you need.
Enter the necessary information.
There is also an image registration such as a screenshot and a logo, so I will upload it.
When you're done, click the Save button at the bottom.
Set the publishing timing of your app after it has been certified by public review.
For desktop applications, all the features are available, so you need to include a reason for publishing them in the Store. Enter a reason for your application, such as why it cannot be published as a UWP.
When you have entered everything, click the "Save" button.
Submit an application
Once all registration is complete and all completion checks are completed, click the "Submit to Microsoft Store" button to submit.
It may take a long and several days to be published or ng or not, so we'll wait until then.
I'll get an email when the screening is complete. If you're fine with the review, the app will be automatically published according to your publishdate and time settings. If it was NG, the reason is listed in the email or at the target link, so please respond and submit it again.
